Book review: Iron Prince: A Progression Sci-Fi Epic (Warformed: Stormweaver Book 1) (Bryce O'Connor)

Started this highly rated progression epic.

Chapter 1: Nice action packed beginning to the story. Lays out some background of the universe the book is set in. Underdog protagonist friends with top seed who also happens to be the most popular girl.

Chapter 2: Introduces a new character who i believe will have great influence on the main protagonist in the future.

Chapter 3: This is a very important moment in this story, as the characters are assigned their own special powers. It's clever how the exam format is kept very modern outlook and the writer has tried to provide more background as part of written test questions built into the story. This is a great way of keeping the engagement level high while also building the story's base foundation.

Chapter 4: Ah a failed physical exam, miraculously overruled. Seems destiny has something else in mind for the main character!

Chapter 5: An interview with the MIND and unlocking of the main protagonists' true potential as a test case or an experiment. Some more backstory and also introduction of the antagonists of this story, the Archons.

Chapter 7: A very interesting twist to the tale, with progression being the focus. Quite apt for a progression series, whats better than a really nerfed main character with overpowering growth potential. Great set up some surprises in fights of the future. Folks are for sure going to get surprised with the rapid growth.

Chapter 8: I am really liking the crisp story telling. Not a single word appears to be redundant, and is keeping my strongly engaged. Seems despite a poorer starting point our main character is still going to make it to the top school. But I can forsee a lot of ridicule and bullying in the early days.

Chapter 9: Fascinating to see a Gryffindor connection and also many Indian origin names of characters.

Chapter 10-11: The entry into a new School always is so exciting. We get some introductions about the school this book part will base upon.

Chapter 17: College games mimicking professional circuit similar to American Baseball, Football and Basketball league.

Chapter 18: The first real test is conducted and the chapter ends with a very interesting cliffhanger. Nice build up to Chapter 19.

Chapter 19: The main character has a high tolerance of pain. It's not important how many times one is beaten down, what is important is that one gets back back again and continues the fight. Resilience or fortitude is what makes a champion. This is also first time the similarity to Iron is brought out making it the beginning of the legend of the Iron Prince.

Chapter 20 -23: Was a great build up and fight between two important characters. Another evolution of the main character and development of some romantic interests further spicing up the story. With significant competitions approaching fast our main lead need to grow stronger fast. I am curious how this pans out.

Chapter 24: Another very interesting character joining the main gang. I see a strong team forming.

Chapter 25: The good always come along with the bad. With friends come enemies and with supportive teachers come discouraging ones. The main character finally appears to have been caught by some eveil elements just when his life started improving. Time for some plot twists and character building, very much like real life which also has ebbs and lows of good and bad times.

Chapter 26: Seems time has come to really go all-out on levelling up.

Is wonderful that a legendary senior gets involved in pushing the main protagonist.

Very interesting how the suspense moments are stretched so the anticipation builds up as we approach the finale.

A predictable end but enjoyable nevertheless. An all Star team formed. I am now looking forward to the next book of this series.
